Six Innovations You Can Use in Your Newsroom

This year Knight Foundation was invited by ASNE to develop a panel for their conference. The panel will introduce everyone to six Knight funded projects that aim to spur media innovation. The projects range from a news-video widget, a customizable political-facts widget, a Facebook news app. and a Print self-publishing tool to Microformat for news content and a tool for annotating and organizing source documents.

Yes they're all cool, but more important, the products that will be demonstrated during this session are actually being used by news organizations like your own. The panel and their quick-paced presentations will show you how these projects are being used and how you can start using them in your media organization.

This site is the companion site for our panel. We hope everyone uses it to learn more about the projects, to see how others are using these innovations and to be able to have a conversation and with Knight Foundation about them.

Since we have only 50 minutes to do six presentations, we will not have time for Q&A. However, the panel will be available to answer questions after the session and at the Innovation Salon. We also hope you use this site to send us your questions either via commenting on the site, or live, using twitter and our hashtag for this session: #kfapps.

If you are not able to attend the ASNE conference, you can also follow #kfapps and send us your questions and comments. Below are the members of the panel and their twitter handles:
